End of Life Care & Respite Care

Compassionate palliative and end-of-life support at home, combined with scheduled respite relief for family caregivers — so your loved one is never without dignified, expert care.

When a loved one is nearing the end of life, the most meaningful gift you can give is comfort, dignity, and presence — in the place they call home. Our end-of-life care team works alongside palliative physicians, hospice nurses, and family members to ensure every moment is as peaceful and meaningful as possible. We also provide scheduled respite care so that family caregivers can rest, recharge, and continue showing up fully for those they love.

What's Included
  • Palliative comfort care — expert symptom management focused on pain relief, breathlessness, and anxiety, guided by your medical team's directives
  • Dignified personal care — gentle hygiene, repositioning, and skin care delivered with sensitivity to the client's comfort and wishes
  • Family guidance and education — helping family members understand what to expect, how to provide comfort, and how to navigate end-of-life decisions
  • Respite relief for family caregivers — scheduled breaks of a few hours to several days, giving primary caregivers the rest they need without guilt or worry
  • Overnight respite support — awake or asleep overnight caregivers so family members can sleep peacefully knowing their loved one is safe and cared for
Our end-of-life caregivers receive specialized training in palliative philosophy and compassionate communication. We understand that this time is sacred, and we approach every shift with the reverence and gentleness it deserves. Respite care can be arranged on short notice when families need immediate relief.

Memory & Dementia Care

Specialized support for clients with Alzheimer's and dementia, using validated therapeutic approaches to maintain cognitive engagement and reduce distress.

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia requires a unique combination of clinical knowledge, emotional intelligence, and extraordinary patience. Our dementia-trained caregivers are specially certified to provide support that reduces distress, maintains dignity, and creates moments of genuine connection — even in the later stages of cognitive decline.

What's Included
  • Validated therapeutic communication — techniques including validation therapy, reminiscence therapy, and reality orientation used appropriately based on disease stage
  • Behavioral symptom management — skilled de-escalation and redirection for agitation, sundowning, wandering, and repetitive behaviors
  • Structured daily routines — consistent schedules that reduce anxiety, confusion, and behavioral episodes by providing predictability
  • Cognitive engagement activities — meaningful activities tailored to the client's history, interests, and current abilities to maintain engagement and purpose
  • Safe environment monitoring — continuous supervision to prevent wandering, falls, and other safety risks associated with impaired judgment
  • Nutrition and hydration support — addressing common challenges such as food refusal, swallowing difficulties, and forgetting to eat or drink
  • Family education and support — coaching family members on communication strategies, understanding behavioral changes, and avoiding caregiver burnout
  • End-stage care coordination — compassionate support and palliative care planning as the disease progresses, in partnership with your medical team
All memory care staff complete specialized dementia care certification including Gentle Persuasive Approaches training, and receive ongoing clinical supervision. We understand dementia care is as much about supporting the family as caring for the client.

Homemaking & Companionship

Light housekeeping, nutritious meal preparation, grocery assistance, and meaningful companionship to support a vibrant, independent lifestyle at home.

Independence is about more than medical care — it's about living well. Our Homemaking & Companionship service supports the everyday rhythms of life that keep a person connected, comfortable, and thriving at home. These services are often the difference between a client staying safely at home and a premature move to residential care.

What's Included
  • Nutritious meal preparation — planning and cooking meals that meet dietary restrictions, cultural preferences, and appetite changes, with an emphasis on enjoyment
  • Grocery shopping and errands — accompanied or independent shopping trips, pharmacy pickups, and errand assistance
  • Light housekeeping — vacuuming, mopping, dusting, dish washing, and bathroom cleaning to maintain a safe, hygienic home environment
  • Laundry and linen care — washing, drying, folding, and changing bed linens on a regular schedule
  • Appointment accompaniment — transportation and escort to medical appointments, social events, religious services, and community outings
  • Medication reminders — prompting clients to take scheduled medications without direct administration
  • Social engagement and companionship — meaningful conversation, games, reading aloud, music, crafts, and shared activities tailored to the client's interests
  • Family communication liaison — regular updates to family members about the client's mood, activities, appetite, and general wellbeing
Companionship caregivers are matched not just on skill, but on personality. We believe the relationship between a caregiver and client is as therapeutic as any clinical intervention — and we take that matching process seriously.
